FAQ

Deadbolt questions, answered

A cellular deadbolt is a smart deadbolt with mobile connectivity built into the lock itself. igloo's Cellular Deadbolt uses NB-IoT and LTE-M alongside Bluetooth, so you get remote management and real-time alerts without installing a hub, gateway or bridge at the property.

No. Both locks in the range use patented offline access technology on the G2 chip, so PIN codes are validated at the lock with no WiFi or internet connection. The Cellular Deadbolt adds its own cellular link for remote management and alerts, still without WiFi.

The Cellular Deadbolt has NB-IoT, LTE-M and Bluetooth built in, giving real-time alerts and remote management with no hub. The Deadbolt 2E is Bluetooth only and offline-first, issuing PIN codes and Bluetooth keys for everyday portfolios. Both share the same slim form factor, auto lock, PIN decoy, passage mode and physical backup keys.

Yes. Every deadbolt in the range takes physical backup keys: a brass key for sharing and a chrome key for overriding access, so you always have a way in.

Yes. The range is built for single family and multifamily property management, with lease-bound resident access, staff permissions and vendor visits managed centrally across whole portfolios. It retrofits standard doors with no wiring.
